I Was on a Podcast: The Low Vision Guy

So, I’ve always admired podcasts and the people who run them. Podcasts are really a multi-faceted outlet where you can go to provide or receive news, interviews, fictional or non-fictional stories, education about various topics, entertainment, sports, and so much more. They cover so many topics and are a hugely prolific medium.

So, of course I was thrilled and honored to be invited as a guest on a podcast this week.

The Low Vision Guy Podcast

The Low Vision Guy is a project run by a very chill guy named Demarco from Miami. He has low vision, and his mission with this project is to connect people within the low vision and blind communities and to spread awareness and resources. He uses his website, marketing business, and podcast to accomplish these goals. (His website appears to be down now. I’ll update when and if it is back online.)

From the moment he reached out to me, I knew this guy was one of the good ones. I love what he’s doing for these communities, and I am so honored to be a small part of his project. Find him on his website linked above along with his Instagram.

The Talk

In this podcast we covered albinism, low vision, living in the south, dating, technology, and several other topics. The podcast format is a very laid back discussion with some interview questions thrown in the mix. Come catch some southern drawl and some new perspectives. I had an awesome time, and I hope you guys have a good time listening.

Give it a listen from one of your favorite platforms! You can find links on The Low Vision Guy site or below.

The Tech

He uses Zoom to connect with his guests via audio chat. My audio was recorded with a cheap condenser microphone and a FocusRite USB audio interface. I also used these Audio Technica headphones for monitoring.

I have Albinism and am legally blind. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I'm currently pursuing my passion of writing through this blog and for the Albinism InSight magazine.
